The minute I started writing food-related articles, it was only a matter of time before I wrote about ice cream. I have a reputation for my fondness of ice cream, to the point that I was on almost a first-name basis with the lovely lady who drove the soft serve truck in my neighborhood. I even drew a comic once about my sixth sense for hearing the ice cream truck jingle from a mile away. I also love eating gelato, particularly when it’s a nice tart raspberry gelato, but I like all sorts of flavours of frosty delight and thus my article for the Summer 2016 issue of Jewish Review was an opportunity to share my favourite “cold spots” on a hot summer’s day.

Living in southern Ontario has always been a blessing for someone like me, who loves all sorts of natural surroundings even more than I love the wonderful selection of foods available to us with so many farms close to the cities. And there are many people in Toronto and the surroundings areas who share my love of nature and food, and seek to combine the two into a gastro-culture that not only respects the land but celebrates its bounties. I took the opportunity to write about these other environmentally-friendly gastro-enthusiasts in my article for the Winter 2015 issue of Jewish Review

When I started out writing these articles for Jewish Review, the idea was just to provide a short guide to some of the better restaurants around Toronto but since then I have been trying to group of these places by a common theme, just to keep things interesting. As I love a good patio lounge as much as the next person, it felt only right to have a restaurant guide that focused specifically on patios and the result is my article “Patio Paradise” from the Spring 2015 issue of Jewish Review

More than a year ago, some friends and I figured out that we could create a collaborative Google map, in that more than one person can view and make markers on the same map, and we use our common map for a noble purpose: to discover the best places to eat in the Greater Toronto Area. The name of this map is “Let’s Eat Good” and it wasn’t long before we had around 20 to 30 places marked down for future adventures, and these places were not only literally all over the map in terms of geography, but also in price and cuisine.
